Rino beach club yoga class

(35th and Larimer)

Celebrate Summer in the city by practicing yoga on the sand and in the sun! RiNo Beach Club is a pop-up urban beach venue located in the heart of the River North Art District (35th & Larimer).

With over 10,000 square feet of sand, a giant pool, local artisans and vendors, we’ll be practicing with feet in the sand and head in the clouds. Class is one hour starting at 10:45am.

Stick around after class and enjoy the pool, bottomless mimosas, local bands, and DJs, the RiNo Beach Club is the perfect way to spend your Sundays!
Please bring a beach blanket or mat (we’ll be practicing in the sand), water and comfortable clothes.

Close out Summer with a bang with this yoga bootcamp hosted by Erin Hardy. No zen music here folks. Be ready to run, sweat, and practice yoga and push yourself through a crazy fun  6-week transformation.

We’ll meet twice a week for 6-weeks every Monday and Wednesday from 6am – 7am at The Yoga Mat. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

The Yoga Mat will be hosting an hour long yoga class surrounded by wine barrels and vino at local favorite, Infinite Monkey Theorem Urban Winery (32nd and Larimer St.) Following class we’ll move the party into their Wine Lab for a glass of wine (included within the ticket price). Bring friends, family, co-workers, and dates, because this event is not to be missed.

Let’s kick-off our Saturday the best way we know how, yoga in a brewhouse followed by delicious craft beer. Join us at new local RiNo brewery, Ratio Beerworks for yoga and a cold one Saturday June 27th at 11am. This isn’t your mom’s yoga class, we’ll be flowing to tunes from Hot Water Music and Fugazi to name a few, come ready to party.

Yoga at Red Rocks Amphitheater

Red Rocks brings you the biggest and best concerts in Colorado while serving up some amazing views. At The Yoga Mat we like to think we come up with some killer playlists so why not combine our vinyasa yoga class at one of the greatest music venues in the country, Red Rocks!

We’ll meet on the upper deck (Red Rocks Main Entrance) overlooking Red Rocks seating and stage 15 – 20 mins before class time.

YinKi Workshop with Micahla Cowles and Desire Anastasia

Saturday, 8/1 // 2:30 – 4pm 

Combines Yin Yoga and Reiki (hands on energy healing)

Non-heated class. Recommend that you bring clothing that’s a little warmer (socks, warm shirt)

Yin Yoga is a passive & deeply healing form of yoga.

In Yin Yoga we hold postures longer which allows us to move deeper past the muscle and tendons. Yin stretches, lengthens and heals the connective tissues such as the ligaments (connect bone to bone) and the Fascia (the tissue that surrounds everything in the body)

Yin stimulates our Chi (energy) that runs through the connective tissues of our bodies. This helps to remove blockages or stagnant energy. This, in turn, helps vital energy to flow freely throughout the meridians and energy system of our bodies.

Incorporating Reiki Healing allows the energy to be received on a deeper level. Reiki is incredibly relaxing and gentle. Your body will receive exactly what it needs; no more no less. Reiki is an unconditionally loving and supportive form of healing. It works quickly and effectively. It does not require the recipient do anything but show up!

In each Yinki class you will begin with centering breath-work and meditation. Certified Reiki practitioners will infuse you with Reiki (universal energy) as you open into the connective tissues of the body through Yin Yoga. This allows for deep relaxation and the release of mental, emotional and physical stress. To complete the class you will be bathed in the healing sounds of crystal bowls, allowing your body to soak up all of the healing benefits that Yinki has to offer.

Every single student is different with a unique anatomy, strengths and challenges. We’ll take a look at common poses in different body types and how to adjust the poses specifically for each person. Developing a keen eye is key.

No one should be left out in class when an arm balance is mentioned. We’ll look at a few of the most complex arm balances and break them down into smaller chunks that will become achievable as you practice them over time.

Hip Openers – Pigeon and WAY Beyond Workshop

All levels

Open hips mean much more than being able to do pigeon with ease. Open and strong hips make many of the most sought after poses possible. The hip is directly related to the health of the lower back making it an important joint to understand in yourself and in students. A joint with many different movements that can be affected by many different muscles make the hip complex. Time will be spent looking at the anatomy of the hip in lecture in a detailed but easy to understand. We will then look at all the different hip positions and where the limitations and weaknesses may occur as related to asana. By the end students will know how to work towards their goals in their hips wisely.

Fly Like a Yogi Workshop

Saturday, 10/17 – 1:30pm – 4:30pm 

Are you ready to have some fun? This workshop is playful on purpose to get you out of your head and flying with ease! While staying grounded in the essential elements of alignment we will adventure away from the wall and out into where the magic happens! Expect a strong vinyasa warmup, plenty of ab work and to have fun. We will be exploring creative ways to find your balance in handstand away from the wall.

*Core training and conditioning
*Learn how specific warm up poses prepare the body for inverting.
* Learn common misalignments and how to avoid them.
* Hands on adjustments and lots of personal feedback.

Grow Your Inversions Workshop 

Sunday, 10/18 – 12pm – 3pm 

This is an inversion basics class aimed at getting you comfortable upside down. This is a great foundation for beginners or anyone wanting to review the fundamentals of inversions. We will make our way through an inversion specific warmup, plenty of corework, headstand A, headstand B, pincha maryurasana and handstand at the wall. Come willing to sweat, play and let go of some old fears!

* Discover the psychological and physical of a regular inversion practice.
* Injury prevention through proper technique and alignment
* Use props for feedback, guidance and exploration of what is possible!
