Welcome Winter: Vinyasa Yin Fusion with Live Drums Workshop
with April Mueller and Jay on the Drums
Saturday, 12/20 from 1:15 – 3:15pm
Join April Mueller and special guest, Jay On The Drums to rhythmically transition from Fall to Winter. As we move into the yin season of Winter, our bodies need more yin activities and movements to balance our yang energy.
We will begin by deeply grounding with thirty minutes of healing yin postures, which will be held for 3-5 minutes each with the support of bolsters and other props. The rhythm of live drumming will guide you through a warming 60-minute Vinyasa flow that will connect your body and mind through your breath. To end, we will slow back down with a few final yin postures before sinking into a nice, long Savasana.

A Beginner Yoga 6-Week Series with April Mueller
Six Saturdays, January 17th – February 21st, 2015
Whether you’ve always wanted to try yoga but weren’t sure where to start, or you’re already a yogi that wants to refine your practice and get back to the basics, this is the workshop for you!
We will meet for six consecutive weeks for 90-minute workshop style classes where we will focus on a few poses each week that we will break down in depth with discussion, demonstration, and participation. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of yoga as a whole and upon completion of the series, you will feel confident in your practice and have a solid foundation to build on in public classes.
In this workshop, you will receive the support of the teacher and your fellow students in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Chaturanga & Beyond

Join April to learn how to protect your body while you safely advance your vinyasa yoga practice. Three of the most common poses practiced in vinyasa yoga are downward facing dog, upward facing dog and chaturanga dandasana. Proper alignment for these three poses is not often broken down in detail and practicing them with improper alignment can over time result in injury and permanent damage.
In this workshop, we will thoroughly break down downward facing dog, upward facing dog and chaturanga dandasana with discussion, demonstration and practice. You will learn to safely move your body through vinyasas and other transitions including:
Lowering to the belly from high plank and pressing back up
Transitioning from chaturanga to upward facing dog
Chaturanga variations including chaturanga prep and eka pada chaturanga
Jumping back from uttanasana to chaturanga
Jumping forward from downward facing dog to uttanasana
Jumping through to seated from downward facing dog
