Yoga + Wine Events @ Infinite Monkey Winery

Balance on your mat, then get tipsy at the bar.

The first and third Thursday of each month The Yoga Mat will be hosting an hour long yoga class surrounded by wine barrels and vino at local favorite, Infinite Monkey Theorem Urban Winery (32nd and Larimer St.) Following class we’ll move the party into their Wine Lab for a glass of wine (included in the ticket price). Bring friends, family, co-workers, dates, because this event is not to be missed.

Please bring your own yoga mat.

  • Thursday, August 7th – class starts at 6:30pm
  • Thursday, August 21st – class starts at 6:30pm

$20 per person if purchased online before the event (ticket price includes an hour yoga class + 1 glass of wine)

New Beginnings // A Beginner Yoga 6 Week Series

DATES: Six Saturdays, September 6, 2014 – October 11, 2014

TIME: 8:30am-10:00am

Whether you’ve always wanted to try yoga but felt too intimidated or embarrassed, or if you’re already a yogi that wants to refine your practice and get back to the basics, this is the class for you! We will meet for 6 consecutive weeks at the same time each week for a 90-minute workshop style class. We will focus on a few poses each week, which we will break down in depth with discussion, demonstration, and participation. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of yoga as a whole and upon completion of the series, you will feel confident in your practice and have a solid foundation to build on in public classes. You will receive the support of the teacher and your fellow students in a safe and non-judgmental environment. You will learn about proper alignment, breath work, meditation, and how yoga can be therapeutic physically, mentally, and even spiritually. ABOUT THE TEACHER, APRIL MUELLER
I was introduced to yoga about 8 years ago when I was looking for a way to lose some weight and get in shape. I eventually started taking classes as I could afford them and it soon became a regular part of my life. It wasn’t until 2012 that I got really serious about yoga after an injury. I broke my leg and ankle and had to have surgery and was out of yoga for 5 months. I couldn’t wait to get back into it and it became incredible physical therapy for my ankle. I have since had 2 additional surgeries but have jumped back into yoga as soon as my surgeon allowed me to, and have had nothing but amazing results. In the last couple of years, I have learned that there is so much more to yoga than just exercise and physical activity. Yoga has also helped me to grow emotionally and spiritually and is the best mind, body, everything therapy I have ever discovered. Which is why I recently decided to leave my six year career as an accountant to become a yoga teacher. Yoga can be so many different things for different people and I can’t think of anything I’d love to do more than to share my passion with others.
I recently had the privilege of completing my 200 Hour Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh, India which was an incredible experience. I am now continuing my education through Kindness Yoga’s 500 hour teacher training program and I am looking for opportunities to expand my network of students and spread my love of yoga to as many people as possible!
I created this blog because let’s face it; there are a lot of uncomfortable aspects of yoga. Many of the poses are uncomfortable physically. Not only that, but many of the poses can bring up uncomfortable feelings and emotions. And of course, there can be some amusing situations that can come up in yoga that most people are not comfortable openly discussing. Thank you for your interest and support!
